As you may know, we are partnered with onetreeplanted.org and so we promise to you that we will donate to plant 1 tree for every product you buy on our store. So, for every product bought on our store, one tree is planted on this planet! They are an incredible organisation so hit the link to check out the incredible things they our doing for our beautiful planet.
Upon hearing this, you may wonder why we are planting trees, when our main focus is saving our ocean. We have been approached with questions such as "How does planting trees help our oceans?" and "What has this got to do with saving the marine life and habitats?". It seems crazy, right!? However, the trees on our planet are so incredibly important to our oceans and with help from OneTreePlanted here's why:
Trees Help to Reduce the Acidification of the Ocean
Trees help reduce ocean acidification. Carbon dioxide moves from the atmosphere into the ocean and so the more CO2 there is in our atmosphere, the more CO2 is absorbed into the ocean, causing the ocean's acidification to increase, resulting in huge devastation to ocean life and marine habitats. The ocean is around 30% more acidic at present than it was before the industrial revolution and before the huge increase in deforestation levels around the world.
This is where the wonderful trees come in, to work their magic. As you will know, trees absorb Carbon Dioxide in our atmosphere and use it during photosynthesis. This helps the ocean greatly as this results in a decrease in CO2 and therefore a decrease in the amount of CO2 being absorbed into our oceans, meaning the ocean's acidification is not affected as greatly as it would be without the trees.
This is why we need your help! By wearing MoshCulture gear, you know that you are doing something amazing for our oceans and for the rest of the world, by planting trees in the areas that are most in need for these planting initiatives.
We thank you so much for your support, and with your help, we know we can do our bit to help reduce the devastating effects of the increases of the greenhouse gases in our atmosphere.
